Brakes wear slowly, then all at once.

Pads and discs wear down gradually, so most people do not notice until there is metal on metal — which turns a pad job into a disc job.

We measure how much pad and disc you have left and tell you exactly where you stand. If they are fine, we say so and charge you nothing for the look.

We also change brake fluid, which absorbs water over time and makes the pedal feel soft. Most manufacturers want it changed every two years.

What is included

Signs to watch for

Get brakes checked when.

If any of these sound familiar, bring the vehicle in and we will take a look.

They squeal or grind

Squealing is the wear indicator. Grinding means the pad is gone and the disc is being damaged.

The pedal shudders

A pulsing pedal or shaking steering wheel under braking usually means warped discs.

The pedal feels soft

A spongy pedal or one that sinks means air or water in the fluid, or a leak. Do not leave it.
